In 2017 Andrew was awarded an Exceptional Service Award by the Chartered Insurance Institute in recognition of his work over many years to raise professional standards.
Andrew is Chair of Flintshire Liberal Democrats and, during the 2021 Senedd Election campaign, was appointed as the Welsh Liberal Democrat's Economy Spokesperson.
Andrew has been selected as the prospective Welsh Lib Dem candidate for Cilcain ward (encompassing the villages of Cilcain, Hendre, Nannerch and Rhydymwyn) for the May 2022 County Council elections.
Andrew Parkhurst said:
“What do you think people need from their local county councillor?
“Is it someone who will be a strong voice in County Hall? Is it someone who will listen to local people and understand their concerns? Is it someone who loves living here and wants to make our area the best it can be?
“To me, these are some of the most important things a local councillor can do.
“Your voice matters, and I want to make sure it won’t be ignored. I want to listen to, and work with, local people to make a difference. I live in the heart of our area, and want to make it an even better place to live and work.
“That’s why I’ve commissioned a Residents’ Survey to find out what matters most to you. If you haven’t yet received your copy let me know by emailing me at [email protected] or phoning me on 07307 892310 and I will ensure you get one.
“I’m so proud of the record of the Welsh Liberal Democrat team in our area. You rarely hear from the other parties outside of election time but your Welsh Liberal Democrat team and I work hard all year round, listening to local people, and getting things done.
“I hope you will vote for me in May to get the positive change our area deserves.”
