I’m supporting @MarieCurieCymru’s pledge to prioritise end of life care in the next Senedd.
Too many people still don’t know the options open to them at the end of their lives. I will work to address this if I’m elected in May.
Everyone deserves to be loved and cared for, particularly in their last days, and to be able to die peacefully at home if that is their wish.
With the coronavirus pandemic, the choice to die at home has become more important and precious than ever. It is nothing less than we all would want for ourselves and our loved ones.
Andrew Parkhurst, Welsh Liberal Democrat candidate for Delyn said:
"I remember when my father was terminally ill. Being able to spend his last days at home was immensely important to him.
"The care that Marie Curie nurses gave my father was phenomenal and enabled his wish to be fulfilled, surrounded by his family. I will be forever grateful to them."
